I’m just going to keep this one short as all I really wanted to say was THANK YOU to everyone for your support and feedback this year after I started this blog.
It still has a long way to go, and I have some new ideas in mind, but I love writing about Mere Morsels and hope that I can continue to provide some useful recommendations for places to eat and on the rare occasion … to avoid!
2014 has been a fanastic year for trying out new (to me) restaurants and returning to old favourites. Thank you to the friends and family who have shared meals with me and watched as their food goes slowly lukewarm while I attempt to take my (still) amateurish photos.
Tapas appears to have made quite a strong appearance this year, with some great food on our girls’ holiday in Ibiza and the wonders that are on offer at Ember Yard and Opera Tavern. Getting a table at Chiltern Firehouse in the summer was also a bit of a coup!
This year Matt and I made the short move from Earlsfield to Tooting and are loving exploring everything the area has to offer. From Dosa’n’Chutney, to Tota and Tooting Broadway Market, there are some real gems in this part of southwest London and we are excited about the many more to come. The @PedalBackCafe and @MudTooting are just two newbies I’ll be visiting in the new year.
As I’m sure you’ve realised, Dorset is our home from home and is a foodie haven. 2014 saw the first occasion where we actually managed to catch and cook our own dinner. Next year, the world really could be our oyster…or lobster….or sea bass!
I’ll be sharing more of our discoveries down here on the stunning Jurassic Coast and, if all goes well tonight on New Year’s Eve, our first bash at making Beef Wellington.
With new places springing up in London every second it seems, my list of places to sample is longer than ever. But I’d love to hear from you all about the places that makes you happy too. Please feel free to tweet me @meremorsels.
Thank you again and I look forward to eating with you all in 2015!
